1. Who we are and scope

True Taxi Co., Ltd. (“we”, “us”) is a technology company. We run a ride-hailing platform that connects riders with independent partner operators and drivers. We do not own vehicles and we do not provide rides. Our address is No. (Tha-1/01), 73rd Street, between 115th and 116th Streets, Kywe Se Kan, Pyigyitagon Township, Mandalay, Myanmar.

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with and what you can do about it. It covers the TrueTaxi apps (the TrueTaxi Driver app now, and the passenger app when it launches), the related services behind them, and this website (gotruetaxi.com).

Partner operators and drivers may also use ride data for their own purposes, for example to keep their own records. In that case they are responsible for how they handle it.

2. Data we collect

Riders

When you request or take a ride, we collect:

  • your name (optional) and phone number;
  • the pickup and drop-off places and times;
  • notes you give about the ride;
  • the trip route, fare and receipt records.

When the passenger app launches, it will also collect your precise location while you are booking or riding, if you give permission. You can withdraw that permission in your phone settings at any time.

Drivers (TrueTaxi Driver app)

To operate the driver app, we collect the following about you as a driver:

  • Identity and documents: name, phone number, email address, date of birth, gender, home address, an emergency contact (name, relation, phone), your National Registration Card (NRC) number, your driving licence number and expiry date, and a face photo taken in the app for identity verification.
  • Vehicle details: plate number, type, colour and similar registration details.
  • Precise location: while you are on duty, roughly every 15 to 30 seconds, and roughly every 5 seconds while you are on a trip. We use it to match ride requests to you, calculate fares and keep trip route records.
  • Device and app information: device model, operating system and app version, and the state of app settings relevant to location and connectivity (for example whether location permission is granted, whether the location is precise, and whether a VPN is active, as a yes/no value). This is used to investigate faults such as location stopping.
  • Diagnostic events: records of app state changes, used to investigate problems. They are deleted after 30 days.
  • Crash reports: collected through Firebase Crashlytics and kept for about 90 days by default.
  • Connection statistics: recorded when your connection drops while you are on duty, for fault investigation.

Sensitive driver fields (NRC number, driving licence number, date of birth, gender, home address, emergency contact and face photo) are encrypted before they leave your device and are stored encrypted. Only our back-end systems, using a key we control, can decrypt them, and only for review purposes.

What we do not collect from drivers: device identifiers such as IMEI, advertising ID, your contacts, the list of other apps on your device, Wi-Fi network names (SSID), or the name of any VPN app you use.

Website visitors

This website uses no cookies and no advertising or analytics trackers, and it loads no third-party fonts or scripts. Like any website, our hosting and network providers keep standard server and CDN logs (for example IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and to keep the site running.

3. How we use data

  • to run the platform: to match ride requests with drivers, show trip progress, and calculate fares from the GPS meter;
  • to keep trip, fare and receipt records;
  • to verify the identity and eligibility of drivers, and to review driver applications;
  • to contact you about your ride, your account or your request to us;
  • to investigate faults, fix problems and keep the platform secure;
  • to help with lost items and complaints about a ride;
  • to meet legal and regulatory requirements.

4. Who we share data with

  • The partner operator and the driver assigned to your ride. They receive what is needed to give the ride, for example your pickup place, drop-off place and contact details. Riders can see the driver and vehicle details for their ride.
  • Service providers acting on our behalf. Google (Firebase and Google Cloud, which store and process our data in the Singapore region, asia-southeast1; Firebase Crashlytics, which receives crash reports; and Google Maps Platform, which provides maps and address search and receives the map locations and addresses involved in those requests), and Cloudflare, which delivers our website and network traffic.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it or a valid legal request is made.
  • A successor, if we are involved in a merger, sale or transfer of our business. We would tell you and the new owner would have to respect this policy.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

5. International transfers

Our data is stored and processed in Google’s Singapore region (asia-southeast1), outside Myanmar. Our other service providers may process data in other countries. We choose providers that protect data with appropriate safeguards.

6. How long we keep data

We keep driver information for as long as the driver account stays active. Rider trip, fare and receipt records are kept as operating and accounting records. Diagnostic events are deleted after 30 days and crash reports expire after about 90 days. If a driver account is deleted, the driver profile, documents and sensitive identity fields are deleted. Trip records that refer to the account are anonymised rather than deleted, so that historical revenue and audit records stay accurate, and no personally identifying driver information remains in that anonymised trail. Deletion requests are completed within 30 days.

7. Security

We protect data with encryption of sensitive fields, encrypted connections and access controls on our systems. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access);
  • correct data that is wrong or out of date;
  • delete your data;
  • stop using data that depends on your consent. For example, you can withdraw the location permission in your phone settings at any time.

Drivers can change their details and delete their account in the app. For anything else, write to support@gotruetaxi.com. We reply within 30 days. To protect your data, we may need to verify who you are first. For deletion, see the account deletion page.

9. Children

Driver accounts are only for people aged 18 or over, and our services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Cookies

This website uses no cookies and no advertising or analytics trackers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or on this website.
